This is the New Home of Prescott Hot Rods, this shop is a 6500 Sqft building that has a lot to offer. We have search for over 2 yrs for the facility that we could grow into and serve our customer best. The building has 5 bay doors, loading docs and plenty of office space.
This building will need a restoration, just like what we do to the cars that come to us. Watch as we drywall, tape, texture, paint and remodel this space to make it a Great new home for Prescott Hot Rods.
We have decided to clean this place up and subdivide the areas into there own departments. The body shop really needs to be in its own area. I will try to keep posting pictures as we remodel the spaces and start setting up. This very large wood structure needs to come down. Then we can start to hang drywall, tape and texture.
The bathroom was not ADA compliant, we have started to remodel this area and give our customers there own restroom. The area with the blue carpet is actually the front entrance and showroom area.
There is a ton of work to do before we can move. The New Shop has to look like a real Hot Rod Shop! We have enough room now to have separate departments, Paint and Body, Upholstery, Fabrication and Mechanical.
Here are a few more areas I haven’t showed you yet. These areas will be remodeled in phase two of the shop. We have to get moved in and opened for business.
The taping and texturing is pretty much done. There are a lot of hours into this project already, don’t worry we’re still working on the cars during the day. We have decided to give the New Shop some kind of paint job that looks Hot Rod.
The paint job will take some work as well. We want the New Shop to be clean and organized. We still have some more Prescott Hot Rod colors to add.
Let’s hope this turns out when we get this mess cleaned up. The shop still needs a coat of white paint to finish it off. The inside is coming along.
Moving day for Prescott Hot Rods! A client of ours has loaned us his trailer, his time and wants to help transport the vehicles by trailer to the new shop!! This is the kind of really great clients we have at Prescott Hot Rods. Thanks Mr. Client!! I’d give your name if I had permission. The Old Shop looks pretty empty, not much left to move. More to follow as we get set up.
Here’s a couple shots of the road view, this is a 4 lane road that was put in earlier this year. As we transported the projects to the New Shop, we decided to line them up out front. These cars sure got lots of looks! This is a great location for the New Shop. It’s up on a hill, so the cars look great from the road view.
The remodel continues, This bathroom has to be ADA compliant for our customers. We always do things top notch, so this will be a great remodel. The showroom will be completed after phase one of the shop is finished.
The restroom is coming along, now that the plumbing inspection has been completed we can finish the remodel. This restroom has to be ADA compliant, so large space, grab bars and a sink at the right height is important.
The shop is getting worked on early mornings and late nights. This is the New Body Shop Dept. We are starting the assembly on a New Paint Booth, we have been waiting a long time for enough room to have this feature.
The paint booth is a huge project, this thing is big enough to fit 2 cars. I believe its 26ft long. The height inside is 11ft, so we can paint a pretty high profile vehicle.
We are only able to spend time after hours to work on the shop and the booth. We need to get it up and approved so we can start spraying, the New Shop is getting lots of attention.
We have some help today on the assembly, its hard to tell how big the booth really is. Thanks for the help guys!! we might just get this thing up yet!
The body shop now has a paint booth, the process took a while but it will be a great asset to the company. We still have a few things to do to finish the Booth. The wiring for electrical, passing inspections from the Fire Marshall and a few others.
The shop is a work in progress, but we are taking in new projects and space is already getting a little crowded. We love having all this room, we just didn’t expect it to fill up in the first 2 weeks. We may have to hire some help yet!
The paint booth is all setup, we still have to mount the exhaust fan and make an access hole to the outside. In the other bays, the Upholstery Shop still needs setup. Now that we have the room, setup is important to be able to work on several jobs at a time. We need to build new tables and setup the sewing machines.
This is the initial setup, we still have another couple Upholstery machines coming to be setup. The space to be able to do Upholstery without sanding dust and paint over spray to worry about, has been needed for a long time. Now that we have room and tables to work off of, its time to start on the 69 Camaro interior. If you look, you can see into the next 3 bays.
The paint booth has been a huge task, we have just installed this huge fan and ran the exhaust vent out of the building. This was a very big job, the fan assembly is over 38″ around and pretty heavy. This is the last part of the paint booth before it starts getting all sealed up. The next job is to schedule with the fire marshal for inspection.
We are now pretty full of cars, this part of the shop was for long term parking. It’s now an area with projects being worked on. There are 6 projects in this area alone.
Nice to have room to work in. here’s a couple Camaro’s getting work done at the same time. The blue one is a ground up restoration thats getting close to finished.
The front showroom has almost been forgotten about. We still had drywall that needed to be repaired and paint and clean things up.
The drywall repair is completed and everything was taped, texture is next and then we can get this room painted. Eventually we will find some display cases and start setting up the front sales room.
The room is all painted and we even have a few chairs donated for some seating, we don’t do too much sitting around these days. The shop continues to fill up with cars, we may run out of space before the end of the year.
